Deakin-funded undergraduate scholarships
Begin your journey at university with an undergraduate scholarship in your chosen study area. The Deakin-Funded Scholarship Program includes three key scholarships: Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship, Deakin Scholarship for Excellence and the Deakin Student Support Scholarship.
Research and PhD scholarships
Our research degree and PhD scholarships will support you during your studies and can cover tuition fees, overseas student health cover or living allowances. For the best chance at securing a scholarship, you’ll need an H1 grade average or equivalent.

Accommodation | On average, a single room student dormitory accommodation will cost about RMB 1500 per month, or about RMB 18,000 per year, including utilities. |
Food | A meal at the university canteen/restaurant or in a fast-food restaurant outside would cost about RMB 7 to RMB 30. The average monthly bill for students that will study in Beijing, China can be between the range of RMB 1800 to RMB 4000. |
Transportation | A one-way local transport ticket in Beijing costs about RMB 4. The taxi start rate costs about RMB 13, plus the additional taxi rate per kilometer of about RMB 2.30. A monthly transport pass for university students in Beijing would cost around RMB 200. |
Extra costs: | Some extra costs for university students who will study in Beijing, China are books and study materials around RMB 210 to RMB 350 per month (increased costs for those studying Sciences, Medicine, or Art), and medical insurance of about RMB 400 per six months. |
Stay at Deakin
Our on-campus accommodation isn't just for students. We welcome academics, school groups, families and individuals to stay with us all year round at any of our campuses. Whether you're staying for a night, a week or a month, we've got a room to suit your needs, including a range of amenities specifically for guests staying on campus. If you're an international student, we recommend that you stay in short-term accommodation for at least the first week of your arrival while you look for long-term accommodation.

How to apply to study in Australia at Deakin University

When applying, please ensure you allow enough time for us process your application, for you to accept and to obtain your student visa in time for you to arrive in Australia for the start of your course.

Academic and language requirements differ depending on your degree or country of residence. Before starting your application, read through the entry requirements on the course page, which can be found in the entry requirements tab. If you are required to complete an English language test, now is the time to organise it.

Deakin College is your first step towards your dream degree at Deakin University. With small class sizes and a supportive environment, Deakin College sets you up for success at university.
Obtain and certify supporting documents
You will need to include documents with your application, such as award certificates (diplomas), academic transcripts, evidence of English proficiency and proof of identity (such as your passport). Most documents need to be certified. Take the original document and a photocopy to an authorised person (for example: justice of the peace, public notary, member of the police force or Australian lawyer) to sign. Documents in languages other than English will also need to be translated.
We recommend you include all documents with your application submission. This allows us to process your application quickly. However if you are waiting for something, such as your IELTS result, you can submit an incomplete application. We can start to process but cannot make an offer until we have all documents.
Applying as early as possible gives you more time to arrange your visa, travel and accommodation if your application is successful.

Academic Requirements
n Iternational students are required to demonstrate proficiency in the Academic Field
Bachelor : Successful completion of an Australian year 12 qualification with a minimum pass in an accepted.
Master : The Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or international equivalent)
Master : Applicants who have a successfully completed an Australian bachelor degree (or international equivalent) will be considered if they have at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
International qualifications are assessed for comparability to Australian qualifications according to the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
English Requirements
International students are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language based on their language test scores. The accredited English language tests preferred by the Deakin University
